Team Just Care More was able to organize a Christmas that a group of foster children will never forget thanks to the help of 50+ gracious donors.

A foster home based in Southern California had hit a bad streak of luck and was spending Christmas Morning at a local hotel. Their group home was being fumigated due to a bed bug invasion. But Team Just Care More had other plans for these children.

The team spent the morning preparing for the arrival of the children by wrapping presents and preparing early-morning snacks. Upon arrival, the children and adults spent a couple hours playing touch football. Despite the rain, it proved to be a fun game for everybody involved, and even came with a surprise rainbow for everybody to enjoy.

After football, everybody had worked up an appetite, so they then feasted on the most amazing Christmas breakfast. No detail was spared and they enjoyed sausages, bacon, eggs, orange juice, chocolate milk, french toast with powdered sugar and hash browns.

Now it was time for the parachute packing class! Everybody gathered around as a member of Team Just Care More walked thru the process of packing a skydive parachute, answering any questions the children had during the process.

And finally, it was the time that we had all been waiting for. All of the foster children then got to experience the thrill of indoor skydiving! Thanks to Skydive Perris Indoor Skydiving facility, the children were able to spend hours flying, laughing, and having the time of their lives. One team member summed it up perfectly when she stated, ‘My cheeks hurt from smiling so much’.

And of course, what is Christmas without stockings and presents! Each child received a stocking stuffed to the top with an assortment of candy. But what really got the kids attention, were the envelopes sitting next to them. Inside each envelope was $200 in gift cards. The children only receive $100 every 6 months for clothing, so receiving this amount was beyond exciting for them. Many of them stared at their gift cards in disbelief.

How Can You Help?

Just because Christmas is over, doesn’t mean the fun will stop for these Foster Kids. Team Just Care More is currently planning and getting approval for hot air balloon rides for the children, along with indoor rock-climbing trips. You can help by donating to help sponsor the costs for these children. Every dollar counts to help these foster kids overcome their adversity.

Thank you to everybody who donated and showed the children that there are people out there who Care More.
